Adult Sunday School
Travelers—Sam Colson—Room S-1
This class is open to everyone from college age through retirement. The book, The Secret Message of Jesus, by Brian McLaren, explores Jesus's teaching, placing it in its Jewish context, analyzing its tenets and expression, and trying to work out how it should be lived today.
Seekers—Betty Holley—Room S-2
This class is open to all ages for study of each week’s lectionary scripture passages. The lectionary is a three -year rotation of Bible passages, including one each from the Old Testament, the Gospels, the New Testament, and a Psalm.
Pathfinders—Jerry Snow—Room S-3
This class is open to all ages who are interested in ex- ploring the Bible through discussion and readings, usually based upon the scripture that will be preached upon the following week in worship.
New Beginnings—Fannie Ashley—Room S-4
This class focuses on short-term studies seeking to discern how to live out a call to wholeness. In September, we will study Three Simple Rules by Rueben Job, which looks at three simple but challenging commands based upon John Wesley’s General Rules: “do no harm, do good, stay in love with God.” These rules call us to mutual respect, unity, and a deeper relationship with God.
Keystone Class—Rotating Teachers—Room S-5
This class’s current students are primarily mature, retired individuals, but this past year we’ve added younger adults to the mix! This class uses the NIV Bible Teacher and each week does an in-depth study of a specific Scripture lesson.
