Worship Together With Thanksgiving!
At FCC we believe that Worship is central to understanding God, ourselves, and our call to live as followers of Jesus the Christ. In worship, we offer thanksgiving and praise to God. We learn more about loving God and others through scripture and sermon, music, prayer and communion. We are challenged to “be real” with one another in relationship.
At FCC, we do not check our brains at the door! Instead, we are committed to struggling together to discern our faith through intelligent worship that challenges us to grow spiritually, to love God and others more fully, and to offer ourselves in service to the world in Jesus’ name.
FCC’s Sunday worship takes place at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. Childcare is available for all services. Come and discover worship at FCC!
Communion by intinction8:30 a.m. Worship
The early service, which is about 45 minutes in length, includes some of the “old time” favorite hymns that many grew up with years ago. Due to the intimate nature of the service, prayers of joys and concerns are shared verbally during prayer time. We share The Lord’s Table with Communion by Intinction where you are given a piece of bread and it is dipped in the cup. Sermons are inspiring as well as relevant to daily living.
10:30 a.m. Worship
The 10:30 service of worship has a more formal feel to it. Responsive readings and songs encourage congregational participation in the liturgy. Our outstanding Chancel Choir usually offers an anthem. The communion is served throughout the congregation by the deacons, and quiet times for prayer and reflection are encouraged. The sermon always reflects on scripture with a message that challenges worshippers to consider what it means to live as disciples of Christ in all the places they live and work. There is also a special moment just for children, after which they are escorted to their own worship service program called Worship and Wonder.
Special Services of Worship
A youth receives ashes at an Ash Wednesday service after walking a labyrinth
Several times a year we have special services of worship at FCC. Twice a year, our Youth offer amazing leadership in worship. Our music program and drama team offer cantatas and special programs around Christmas and Easter.
In addition, we have special services reflecting around the seasons of the liturgical year: Wednesday Advent Services, Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Wednesday Lenten services and Holy Week services. The styles of worship for these special services are diverse and experiential. Come, see and experience them for yourself!
