Adult Ministries
Christian Education Opportunities
FCC provides two weekly education opportunities for adults to deepen their relationship with God through our Adult Sunday School Classes and Wednesday Night Program. Throughout the year, there are also special educational and fellowship events.
Super Senior Day
Begun in January 2011, on the fourth Wednesday of every month from 10 a.m. to noon, FCC seniors and friends gather at FCC for Super Senior Day. Our time is spent with programs, fellowship, and lunch at a cost of $5 per person. Programs vary from games to discussions about nutrition to presentations on special topics. Learn more about our Super Senior Day.
Men’s Fellowship
Disciples Men meet every month on the first Sunday at 7:15 a.m. for great Southern-style breakfast, devotion and fellowship. The men are very active in outreach and mission. They fund raise for mission projects with their "Boston butt" sales at Labor Day and throughout the year. There is even a special "butt house" on the property in which the men can cook up to 500 Boston butts. For more information about their activities, be sure to watch the monthly newsletter and church bulletin.
Emmaus Reunion Groups
About thirty of our church members have attended the Walk to Emmaus, a three-day spiritual journey of learning and growth. Several reunion groups have been established for the purpose of prayer and accountability to one another. If you are interested in attending an Emmaus Walk, please visit the Central Alabama Emmaus Community Web page or, if you have attended a Walk and would like to be a part of a reunion group, please contact Jim or Martha Smith at 272-8066.
Prayer Chain
While most members of our congregation are connected to the Internet and receive prayer requests that members have asked to be shared, a group has been formed to share prayer concerns via the telephone. If you feel called to this ministry or would like more information, please contact Estella Gallenstein at 270-1091.
Living Last Supper 2009Drama Team
FCC’s drama team was formed to help us with communicating the Good News in worship and special programs associated with the music ministry. An annual event called The Living Last Supper is one of the ways we open our doors to the larger community during Holy Week.
Supper Clubs
In the fall and in the spring, individuals and couples sign up to be in a Supper Club. Participants are then divided into groups of six or eight and are asked to get together once a month for fellowship and a meal, with the couples or individuals taking turns hosting the meal. Supper Clubs provide the opportunity for participants to get to know each other better in an informal setting.
